“I took the Speed Reading and Memory workshop with Alex Nowak at Cal State University – Northridge in April 2019. This course was a life saver for me! I’m a graduate student and I work full time as a Cultural Resources Specialist – both demand a lot of reading and research from me. The Speed Reading course was incredibly helpful, every aspect of it! Before taking this course, I never thought of strategies for reading, never thought that reading fast requires training like everything else in life. At the beginning of the course we tested our reading speed and I scored below average. Just after 1 session I improved approximately 40%! My favorite exercise is the Speed Drill where you read at 400 wpm (words per minute) or faster. I use this everyday and have become a much more efficient researcher. I used to associate my slow reading to English being my second language, but now I know that all I needed was to have strategies and practice! The IRIS reading method has significantly contributed to my academic and professional success. Thank you!”

“I just wanted to follow-up with you on the Atlanta class you taught at Emory. I really enjoyed the class and it has recharged my enjoyment of reading and the help it will give me in reaching my goal of reading 200 books this year. To date I have finished 95 books. My real goal is to have read 1,000 books between 2012 and 2018. As or the end of the month I am at 695, if I can stay on track I will reach 800 by the end of the year. I continue the drills to build my speed. Again ,thanks for your help in improving my speed and reading skills.”

“Many of the students who attended said this was one of the most beneficial ‘classes’ available to students and they wish they had attended one freshman year. I strongly urge any university to partner with Iris in bringing these workshops to more students!”

“The speed reading workshops have been a huge hit at Ohio State! Students have come to the workshops a little skeptical, but they all leave raving about what they learned and how they can use it. We have presented this workshop to all students from 1st years to graduate and professional, and they have all benefited.”
