“Memory” Challenge – Bootcamp Session 3
Think about all the times you were told to remember something.
How often are you told how to remember the information?
What’s the most efficient way to recall vital details from what you’ve read?
There are different techniques and strategic approaches to help you memorize vital information.
During this week’s Speed Reading Bootcamp session, we discussed specific memory principles and practical techniques that can be applied towards memorizing many different types of information.
Your challenge this week is to apply one of the memory techniques that you learned.
It can be as simple as using the Numeric Peg System to remember a list of groceries or maybe the top 10 principles from that new book you’re reading.
You can apply the Similar Sound System to memorize new vocabulary, perhaps for some of the Longest Words in the English Language (or any other language).
The Memory Palace Technique is one of the most powerful techniques that we cover.
The Ancient Greeks applied this technique for memorizing texts and there are a number of Memory Champions who implement this technique strategically.
Your first step is to create your own Memory Palace. It can be your home, workplace or any other location that you are familiar with. You will need to create a list of at least 10 sub-locations for your Memory Palace by initiating a “Mental Walkthrough” of this location.
