So if I want to read a different book, where can I get text files like these, that will work well with Accelareader?
Paul Nowak, Founder
Hi Linda,
You can get a lot of full-text versions of books through Project Gutenberg. See here:
http://www.gutenberg.org/
Here are the most popular books on Project Gutenberg:

The only thing about it though is that Project Gutenberg only has books that have their copyrights expired.

richard rogg
hi, can this tool be used on the kindle fire on the books i have there?
Paul Nowak, Founder
Hi Richard,
Good question… A few weeks ago I was wondering how to do that and finally figured it out with the help of the following articles…
1.) If you have a Mac, follow the instructions in this article:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2012/10/drm-be-damned-how-to-protect-your-amazon-e-books-from-being-deleted/
2.) If you have a PC, follow the instructions in this article:
http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2012/06/15/how-add-kindle-drm-removal-plugin-calibre/#.UOtYyYnjlPR
I have a Mac (laptop) and a PC (desktop) and those two articles should work for you as they did for me.
Basically, here’s the gist of it. Once you’ve removed the DRM from the Kindle books using the steps mentioned in the article, you can then convert them to any format you want. I just converted the books to .txt format.
From there I just copy & paste the text into AccelaReader. I usually go chapter-by-chapter rather than pasting the entire book… because I can’t sit in place for more than 15 minutes without getting antsy…
Hope that helps!
